Women’s Suffrage Postcards

These are a few of the postcards from Dr. Joan Iversen’s suffrage collection. Most of these are anti-suffrage postcards and illustrate beautifully the opposition to women having the right to vote. In reading them over, I’ve been struck how I can hear the echos of the themes from some of these cards  in the political discourse of today.

I’m in the process of scanning in more, so keep checking back. Or you can sign up for blog updates (see right sidebar at the top). When I have scanned in the complete collection I will do a blog post about it. After that, I will be reviewing the other collections (temperance, etc.) for the next scanning project.
